Project Introduction
Since December 2010, three Macao dance companies, namely Violet Dance Company, Ieng Chi Dance Association and The Dance Studio Macao have been engaging in an exchange process with Prof. Jacek Luminski, Silesian Dance Theatre and the Dance Theater Department Bytom from Poland. Over the last three years, the Polish team has come to Macao several times to research and give workshops in Macao. The final stage of this exchange process is to create a new work, which will be performed by dancers from both Poland and Macao, and choreographed by three local young choreographers, Jacqueline Vong, Chloe Lao and Wina Tang, under the artistic direction of Prof. Jacek Luminski, Dean of the Dance Theatre Department Bytom.
MOP means Macao Patacas, which is the currency of Macao, with MO stands for Macao and P stands for Patacas. Does it mean that this work has the value of money? No, the P here stands for Poland. This represents the collaboration work of Macao and Poland.
